Liberty Tree Dedication in Sherwood, AR

April 12, 2026 – The Casimir Pulaski Chapter of The Sons of the American Revolution and the Centennial Chapter of The Daughters of the American Revolution hosted a Liberty Tree dedication at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in Sherwood, AR.

The original Liberty Tree, a large elm near Boston Common, became a symbol of resistance
during the American Revolutionary War. In 1765 the Sons of Liberty protested the Stamp Tax
Act under its branches, sparking ongoing public demonstrations. After its destruction by
Loyalists in 1775, a liberty pole was raised at its site, and the tree remained an enduring icon
of American independence – to this day.
