JROTC Award Presentation in Texarkana, AR

Texarkana, AR – Southwest Trail Chapter President Dr. Matthew Burks DDS, MD presented a SAR Bronze ROTC Medal to Cadet Staff Sergeant Kaylee Harmon at the AFJROTC program at Arkansas High School in Texarkana, AR, on August 31, 2026.
The medal endeavors to foster the principle of “citizen-soldier” exemplified by the Minutemen and recipients should be selected by the commanding officer of the ROTC unit based on their leadership qualities, military bearing and general excellence. Although commanding officers should be given full latitude in making the selection, the following specific criteria must be met:
- The cadet must be currently enrolled in the JROTC Program;
- The cadet should be a third-year cadet in a four-year program or a second-year cadet in a three-year program;
- The cadet must be in the top 10% of his or her JROTC class;
- The cadet must be in the top 25% of his or her overall class; and
- The cadet may not have received the Bronze ROTC Medal previously from the Sons of the American Revolution.
