DESCRIPTION:In celebration of the 250th Anniversary of the Signing of the Declaration of Independence\, the National Society Sons of the American Revolution will offer a special reduced registration fee for New Member and Jr. Member applications during the month of July 2026. \nFor applications postmarked between July 1 and July 31\, 2026\, the National application fee for New Applications will be $76 in honor of the year 1776. \nThis special fee applies only to New Member and Jr. Member (New Lineage) Applications submitted during the July 2026 window. \nPlease note the following exclusions: \n·        The special fee does not apply to Family Plan Applications \n·        The special fee does not apply to Memorial Applications \n·        The special fee does not apply to Supplemental Applications \nTo qualify for the reduced fee\, New Applications must be postmarked between July 1 and July 31\, 2026. \nWe hope this commemorative initiative will encourage prospective members to join the SAR as we mark the 250th anniversary of our nation’s founding and honor the patriot ancestors who secured American independence. \nPlease contact your local SAR chapter for more information!

DESCRIPTION:The SAR Jordan Milam Chapter will dedicate a SAR monument on the East Side of the Boone County Courthouse in Harrison. One side has information on Jordan Milam’s biography and military career. On the other side is his son\, Samuel Milam\, who was in the War of 1812 with descriptive information. Both are the only soldiers from those wars buried in Boone County.\n\nThe Boy Scouts will be handling the flag duties. The Boone County Interim Judge Archer\, local DAR president\, Jordan Milam Chapter President Pat Flenniken will bring greetings. Compatriot Troy Massey will talk about how the monument came about being placed here and what each side of the marker says about Jordan and Samuel Milam.\n\nImmediately following the dedication\, there will be the DAR Annual Bell Ringing and the SAR/DAR 250th Celebration at the Bandstand on the Northwest corner of the Boone County Courthouse campus.
